This is where your baby’s story begins. Newborn babies grow and change in a blink of an eye. Capturing their precious first days with a photographic portrait will ensure that these priceless moments are recorded forever.
My approach is to allow your baby to lead your session, meaning each photography session is totally unique. There’s no time limit on my sessions (a typical newborn session lasts about 2-3 hours): we go at the pace of your baby and allow plenty of time for feeding, changing, and cuddles.
Siblings are very welcome, family photographs are so precious and priceless.
You need to book your newborn session as soon as you’ve had your 20-week scan to guarantee availability in the first 14 days after birth when your baby is still very sleepy and curled up.
Babies never arrive on time, and when you book with me, I guarantee you a space within 10 days of you notifying me of the birth. Just let me know once your baby arrives and we will arrange a day to suit you and your new family. I always make sure I keep enough flexibility in my diary in this respect.
Best time to book your newborn photoshoot?
Newborns are best photographed in the first two weeks. During this time the babies will usually retain some of the natural curl and flexibility from when they were in your womb. This is ideal for capturing the curly poses of your beautiful, peaceful and sleepy baby.
Booking and Cost
As my diary can get incredibly busy, you need to book your newborn session as soon as you have a confirmed due date, at your 20-week scan, to guarantee availability in the first 14 days after birth when a baby is still sleepy and curled up.
Babies rarely arrive on time, and when you book with me, I guarantee you space within 10 days of you notifying me of the birth of your precious little one. Just let me know once your baby arrives and we will arrange a day to suit you and your new family - I always make sure I keep enough flexibility in my diary in this respect. If your baby has already arrived then don’t worry as it’s possible that I may still have some last-minute availability.
Your newborn photoshoot is always special! The session is free and includes everything to create beautiful images of your new baby. I do ask for a £45 non-refundable diary retainer (deposit) to secure your appointment which is deducted from your final order.
I also offer Maternity photo shoots which are a great way to remember this special & unique time. Maternity shoots are completely personal to you, so whether you want to fully show off your bump, or prefer something a little more reserved it’s totally up to you.
Partners and family members are encouraged to get involved and you can even choose to display your maternity photos and newborn photos together in the same frame, canvas or photo book.
